A title-sequence homage to carpenters “starring” their main material. Wood workers have to have a vast amount of knowledge stored within their brains to make a beautiful piece of furniture. They are working with something organic and that requires knowledge of science, physics, geometry and many hours of hands-on experience. All of these factors combine to create a piece that will last and withstand its environment. In addition to macro and close-up photography, these boards feature data as part of the design aesthetic to demonstrate the depth of knowledge that distinguishes a true artisan. I took these photos using natural light, a Lumix gx7, and an i-phone with a macro lens attachment.
